NCARB
NCARB, or the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, is an American non-profit organization dedicated to advancing architectural licensure. Created by members of state architectural registration boards, NCARB also develops and administers the ARE examination in all 50 states and U.S. territories.
Your NCARB Record is a detailed, verified account of your education, experience, and examination history. A record is required to report AXP experience, start the ARE or apply for an NCARB certificate. Individuals with an NCARB Record do not necessarily need to have a license.
An NCARB Certificate shows that an architect has met rigorous NCARB standards in education, experience, and examination. Certificate holders may be able to take advantage of expedited licensure in between jurisdictions. Individuals with an NCARB Certificate must be licensed architects in at least one jurisdiction.
