Engineering Education

Accreditation is a review process conducted by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) to determine if an educational program meets defined standards of quality. For Nebraska, the education component of licensure is satisfied by graduation from a program accredited by either ABET’s Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) or CEAB.

Please note that EAC/ABET or CEAB accreditation occurs at the program level, not at the university or college level.

Programs accredited by ABET's Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ABET/ETAC), Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission (ABET/ANSAC), or Computing Accreditation Commission (ABET/CAC) do not meet Nebraska's education requirement for licensure.
