The Board has established the NBEA Lunch and Learn Webinar Series, geared toward the public, licensees, and local jurisdiction officials. These webinars provide individuals with information pertinent to the Board and the Nebraska Engineers and Architects Regulation Act (the Act) at no additional charge and allow the Board to reach individuals in all Nebraska districts. These webinars are scheduled for each quarter, and topics will vary by quarter.
All webinars are live and interactive, enabling both the instructor(s) and attendees to give, receive, and discuss information in real-time. They are typically held on Wednesdays from 12 to 1 PM (central time) and are designed to qualify for 1 hour of architecture- and engineering-related continuing education.
Important information regarding the NBEA Lunch and Learn Webinars:
- It is anticipated the Board will give continuing education credit for the webinar, but as a reminder, the Board DOES NOT pre-approve continuing education offerings.
- Certificates WILL NOT be issued as attendance verification. If you participate in the entire presentation, you will receive an email within the next week confirming your attendance. You may need to check your email Junk folder for the email confirmation.
- If an individual would like to claim professional development hours from the webinar, they will need to register individually as the attendance roster is generated from WebEx based on each individual email address or phone number that is logged into the webinar.
- For those who register, an email confirmation will be sent to each registrant with instructions. Registration for each free webinar will be opened several weeks in advance. There is a maximum of 1,000 attendees for each webinar.
- These webinars will not be reported to AIA.

September 25, 2024 - Professional Practice and Ethics
The Board's mission is to establish requirements for education, experience, examination, and enforcement for the practices of engineering and architecture to safeguard life, health, and property, and to promote public welfare. Compliance with the Act encompasses both individuals and organizations, including licensees and non-licensees. For instance, the Act requires the involvement of a design professional on projects that are not exempt from the Act, as well as ensuring that licensees operate within the scope of their competencies and training. This webinar will examine the enforcement and the complaint process, in addition to outlining the penalties associated with violations of the Act, along with illustrative examples of previous infractions.
Note that to gain CE credit, you must have attended one of the two live sessions. Credit will not be given for watching the recorded presentation.
June 26, 2024 - Board of Engineers and Architects Update
The Act was recently updated in March 2024. This webinar reviews those changes, as well as reviewing Board Rule 6.3 regarding coordinating professionals, Board Rule 6.5 regarding technical submissions, and the public works exemption level update.
