NBEA Lunch and Learn Webinar Series

The Board has established the NBEA Lunch and Learn Webinar Series, geared toward the public, licensees, and local jurisdiction officials. These webinars provide individuals with information pertinent to the Board and the Nebraska Engineers and Architects Regulation Act (the Act) at no additional charge and allow the Board to reach individuals in all Nebraska districts. These webinars are scheduled for each quarter, and topics will vary by quarter.

All webinars are live and interactive, enabling both the instructor(s) and attendees to give, receive, and discuss information in real-time. They are typically held on Mondays or Wednesdays from 12 to 1 PM (central time) and are designed to qualify for 1 hour of architecture- and engineering-related continuing education.

Important information regarding the NBEA Lunch and Learn Webinars:

  • It is anticipated the Board will give continuing education credit for the webinar, but as a reminder, the Board DOES NOT pre-approve continuing education offerings.
  • Certificates WILL NOT be issued as attendance verification. If you participate in the entire presentation, you will receive an email within the next week confirming your attendance. You may need to check your email Junk folder for the email confirmation.
  • If an individual would like to claim professional development hours from the webinar, they will need to register individually as the attendance roster is generated from WebEx based on each individual email address or phone number that is logged into the webinar.
  • For those who register, an email confirmation will be sent to each registrant with instructions. Registration for each free webinar will be opened several weeks in advance. There is a maximum of 1,000 attendees for each webinar.
  • These webinars will not be reported to AIA.

To learn more about the CE guidelines and restrictions, see Chapter 9 of the Board's Rules.  If you have any questions about CE or requirements and restrictions, contact the Board at nbea.compliance@nebraska.gov.

Upcoming Webinar

When Does a Lumber Estimate Become a Design? Know the Line.

Join us for a free webinar on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. CST and gain essential insight into the Nebraska Engineers and Architects Regulation Act (E&A Act)—and how it applies to the work you do.

What may seem like a straightforward material takeoff or building layout can, in some cases, cross into the practice of architecture or engineering. Understanding where that line is can help you avoid risk, support your customers, and keep projects moving smoothly.

This session will break down what you need to know in a clear, real-world way.

In this webinar, you will:

  • Understand when an estimate or layout may be considered “design” under the Act
  • Learn when a Nebraska-licensed architect or engineer must be involved
  • Gain practical examples you can apply immediately
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and get straightforward answers

The E&A Act exists to ensure that buildings are designed by qualified professionals when required—protecting life, health, property, and public welfare. Having a clear understanding of these requirements helps you better serve your customers while reducing potential liability.

Don’t miss this opportunity—reserve your spot today. Strengthen your understanding of the Act, support safe construction practices, and help prevent the unlicensed practice of architecture or engineering—whether by preparing plans without proper Nebraska licensure or by failing to engage a licensed design professional when required.

The Board's mission is to establish requirements for education, experience, examination, and enforcement for the practices of engineering and architecture to safeguard life, health, and property, and to promote public welfare. This webinar will examine the enforcement and the complaint process, in addition to outlining the penalties associated with violations of the Act, along with illustrative examples of previous infractions.

Note: To gain CE credit, you must have attended the live sessions. Credit will not be given for watching the recorded presentation.
