The Board of Engineers and Architects welcomes Steve Masters as its new executive director. Effective January 6, 2014, he will be responsible for carrying out the directives of the Board and overseeing the day-to-day administration and operations of Board staff.
Masters brings with him more than 30 years of technical and administrative experience with the City of Lincoln’s Public Works and Utilities Department. He was also the City’s representative on the District Energy Corporation for 17 years, four of those years as president.
“I am eager to start this new chapter,” said Masters. “I am looking forward to working with the Board to serve our licensees and the people of Nebraska.”
Masters received his BS from the University of Missouri - Rolla (now Missouri Science and Technology) and his MS from Iowa State University. He has held a Nebraska PE license for 34 years.
Created in 1937, the Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects is made up of an eight-member assembly appointed by the governor to administer the Engineers and Architects Regulation Act. Its mission is to safeguard life, health, property and promote public welfare by overseeing the laws and rules governing the practice of engineering and architecture in the state.
