Posting Opening: Administrative Assistant


The Board of Engineers and Architects is the licensing and regulatory authority for engineers, architects and applicable organizations offering architecture and professional engineering services. Under limited supervision, the administrative assistant reviews applications, makes recommendations to the Board, issues approved licenses and works closely with staff members on related projects. The administrative assistant is the primary staff liaison for the administrated agencies of the Board of Geologists and State Board of Landscape Architects. The position is responsible for arranging meeting location, preparing meeting materials and minutes, running reports, communicating with other state agencies, and formulating recommendations to the Boards for consideration. This position is ideal for the individual who enjoys varied work assignments, is detailed oriented, works both independently and as a team member, and is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Communication is a key component of this position. The selected candidate must be able to communicate in a concise and clear manner. Some travel is involved to attend authorized national member-board meetings.

Hours: 8-5 M-F

Qualifications / Requirements

Experience in office, administrative, technical, or support work; or in identifying budget, staff, or equipment needs; or in collecting and interpreting statistical, financial, program, or administrative data; or in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, and processes; or in reviewing and evaluating administrative records and reports; or in supervising office or technical staff. OR Post high school coursework/training in: administration, management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, or similar fields.
